John’s progress reports:
John is doing well despite some poor weather and had reached Taunton at the weekend.
Distance travelled: 313km. Metres climbed: 4,233 (almost half way up Everest!)
John is just about to complete the second stage of his amazing journey. May 17th will see him riding between Stoke on Trent and Henley, and then on 18th he will meet up with David Warner in Preston, who is on his record attempt to walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End in 100 days.
John Greensmyth and David Warner, our two ‘Challenge 20’ heroes finally met up in Preston on 18 May. CLL Support Chair was there to congratulate them on their amazing achievement so far. They both still have a long way to go, and we wish them well on their respective journeys.
My experience of the last fortnight cycling through England has been fabulous. It is a “green and pleasant land”. Everyone I met has been welcoming and friendly and it will live long in my memory ??.
John finished, tired but happy, on 30th May and is recovering at home before carrying on with his duties as deputy Chair.
