Challenge 20

To help celebrate our 20th year, we’re inviting everyone to attempt something with the theme ’20’. We already have people who will: enter 20 Dog Agility Competitions; walk 20,000 Steps around Grafham Water;  donate 20 Pigtails to a Children’s wig charity; read 20 Books; complete 20 Hours of Painting; hold coffee mornings for 20 people… and lots more.

Watch this short video to give you more ideas.

Update on fundraising efforts

These are just a few of our members and supporter who are raising funds for CLL Support...

Hannah White completed the Westonbirt Arboretum Half Marathon and has raised an amazing £1,348 including Gift Aid.

Katie Savino completed the Leeds 10K and has raised an amazing £709 including Gift Aid.

John Greensmyth completed his epic recumbent bike ride from Lands End to John O Groats and has raised £4,478 including Gift Aid.

David Warner has raised an amazing £5,575 including Gift Aid from his Guinness Book of Records attempt to be the oldest male to walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End.  At the time of writing David had reached Devon.

Ian McLaren did the MOKRUN back in May and raised £562 including Gift Aid.

Rachel Edden recently completed her Challenge 20 to swim 20km. So far she has raised an amazing £682.50 including Gift Aid. She sent us this beautiful picture of the Cheltenham Lido that makes us want to dive straight in!

Kate Willett is aiming to swim 20.5 miles, equivalent to swimming the English Channel, over the month of September.  To date she has raised a fantastic £585 including Gift Aid. Well done Kate!

Kerry Evenden is having a Summer concert with her Community Choir on 13th September so we’ll have more news about how that goes in our Autumn newsletter.

Helen Paterson has organised a fundraiser at her pub, The Cherry Tree in Netherton, Wishaw. This will take place on 28th September and there have been fundraising raffles throughout the Summer.  The Cherry Tree holds an annual fundraiser based on something that has affected their community.  This year one of their regulars was diagnosed with Leukaemia and he nominated CLL Support.  As he is a big music fan, they will be holding a full day music event. If any of our members are nearby perhaps they would like to check it out as it sounds like a fun day for all music lovers.

Rachel Warwick is currently making 20 bookmarks to give to children to hopefully encourage them to pick up and read a book.  The idea came from when Rachel made a bookmark for her grandson which he used at school.  The bookmarks will be made with a space for the child’s name and also room for them to decorate them further.

A massive thank you so much to all our fundraisers and to those who have donated. Also, a big thank you to those of you who are raising awareness of CLL/SLL. Your support is really appreciated by all of us at CLL Support and our members.
