Although the average age for CLL/SLL diagnosis is about 70, many younger people than this are being diagnosed, and this can have a serious effect, particularly if they are still working. In addition, the impact on children and family can be severe.
There is some indication that more people are being diagnosed at a younger age.
In acknowledgement of this, and the particular problems faced by younger people with CLL and SLL, we have developed a thriving WhatsApp based Under-60 Group, which is led by one of our trustees, Norah Grant.
The group support each other and offer advice based on their personal experience.
